I went to Japan in August-Septembre 2022 for BitSummit to present Soup Raiders. At the same time, I planned a big trip there. Here is a small video with the experience and some photos:

My goal was to see as many matsuri as possible. This one was from Morioka.

This one from Aomori.

There was a flooding in Odate where I was staying.

And this matsuri was in Akita.

This was my setup for Soup Raiders, with both PC and Switch version running.

And of course the river party in the evening.

After Bitsummit, I went to Universal Studio Park…

And I went to Nintendo Park as well.

Kyoto is lovely too.

The view is nice, but hiking in summer might not be the best idea.

I then went on the island of Shikoku, first to Takamatsu, the city where most of “Kafka on the Shore” happens. The garden was beautiful.

I then went to Tokushima matsuri where I also got to dance with the crowd. I drank a very good local homebrew beer from Awa Shinmachigawa Brewery.

I then went to Iya Valley, lost in the countryside, no konbini.

The next day, I went on a walk, following the main road and I got to see this ひ valley.

Next stop was Kotohira, to visit the temples.

I got to see the onsen in Matsuyama (and eat their famous roundish cake).

I then went to Okayama (garden and black castle).

Kurashiki is the little Venice of Japan.

Little stop in Fujinomiya before going up mount Fuji.

On top of Mount Fuji with the sunrise, what a day!

I went to Sapporo to eat Gengis Khan and Soup Curry.

I went by the sea in Noboribetsu.

And to the onsen next to its Jigokudani (valley of hell).

Hiroshima mon amour.

Kagoshima, at the end of the Shinkansen line, taking a ferry…

And waking up with this view of Yajkushima…

To get lost in the wild forest.

Sushi in Beppu, and then hot sand nap.

Osaka.

And finally Tokyo.

A little day in Zushi Beach with some local friends.

And then Poland !?! (My plane was landing there for a day).
